Product Description
Advanced X bracing typical of the period (the x is about 1" from the sound hole). It's all set up to play and it sounds glorious. Very nice all original condition, no cracks but with a repaired 1/2" x 2" mahogany patch in bottom side lower bout (beautiful work by Chris Berkov, now difficult to see). Original finish is in very nice condition overall with strumming wear to the face and a few prominent back scratches. As is typical of the '35 to early '36 style 18's, the original bridge and fingerboard are Brazilian rosewood, rather than ebony. The original Grover tuners are in the case, it comes set up with a nice new set of Waverlys. Chris also did the neck reset and refret. It comes in its original hard shell case, which has had the hinges repaired and isn't perfect but adds to the vintage charm of the guitar.
This is an excellent example of why these '30's 000-18's are such sought after guitars, it has deep bass extension while still offering an excellent balance to the mids and trebles, working really well for fingerstyle as well as flatpicking.
