This is one hell of a beautful guitar! Howard's an amazing builder and craftsman, evidenced by the fact that he made almost everything, including the elaborate purflings and even the pickguard material! The guitar is a traditional Martin shaped OM, 000 size, long scale and 1-3/4" x 2-5/16" string spacing. Again, not a copy, but very Martinesque. And with a richness to the tone that's as luxurious as the beautiful appointments. The materials are top quality: Adirondack spruce, quartersawn old growth Brazilian rosewood, Honduras mahogany neck, Ebony fretboard with abalone inlays, Brazilian rosewood bridge and peghead veneer, Ivory nut, heelcap, and end graft, camel bone saddle, ivoroid bindings. Handmade made "Z" purfling in the style of pre-WWI Martin 0-30 and 0-34, handmade epoxy resin pickguard, gold Waverly "butterbean" tuners, nitrocellulose lacquer finish and Hiscox Artist Series case.
