Our newest concept, taking its shape from a 1920's Galiano Grand Concert by Oscar Schmidt. Inside, it's a Schoenberg: bracing, etc., Scalloped X à la Martin 1929. At 14 3/4" it's a common size from the 20's and 30's: Gibson L-00, Larson, etc, and very pleasing?not quite a 000. More important is the shallower depth. The modern tendency is to make guitars a little deeper than traditional, but playing these Oscar Schmidts and Larsons has demonstrated the viability of the thinner body - still plenty full yet extremely fast response and remarkable prescence. With its Carpathian spruce and Madagascar rosewood, this box is tight, fast, deep, sweet, powerful and perfectly balanced. Other details include pyramid bridge, tortoiseshell binding, very narrow abalone purfling and rosette, Stella style fretboard inlays in gold pearl, 12-fret neck with cutaway and solid peghead with Waverly tuners.
