The Soloist is a model originally designed by Dana and Eric as the primary Schoenberg Guitar model. It's an OM basically, with a 000 body, long scale and 14 frets, adding a cutaway. This one is out of pau rosewood and "Aged Tone" (torrified) Adironack spruce. Appointments are fairly simple and tasty, the same as our original Soloists. All purflings and bindings are wood, binding is ziricote, tuners are gold Waverlies with ebony buttons. The design concept of the Soloist is to aim at being the perfect professional quality guitar of this type, and we feel it has been successful thusly since its inception about thirty years ago.
The pau rosewood is most likely a dalbergia tucarensis, and this particular batch has proven to have a particularly wonderful tonal characteristics.
