Our new love, this is a particularly beautiful and fascinating guitar, brought to us by the son of the original owner. His father grew up in Nazareth next to George Hineline, a Martin foreman, who must have been a super nice guy, because he made several instruments for his young neighbor. The best of the lot is this 00-18 sunburst, with no stamps inside the box, but with the Martin logo on the peghead, so it's a partial employee model, since the employees weren't allowed to put the Martin name anywhere on the guitar. This is incredibly lightly made, sounds as good as any--rich, full bottom end and singing highs--and in perfect, original condition. The burst is possibly the first of the later, darker bursts, while otherwise showing characteristics of circa 1932 (thanks to Willi Henkes for dating info).
