| Cocobola, a close relative to Brazilian rosewood. If anything, it is actually more dense than Brazilian, giving similar tone characteristics, only more so. We like to match it with Engelmann spruce, which adds sweetness to the punch of the cocobola. | ||||||||

Engelmann spruce
The "Soloist" model is a 14 fret to-the-body long-scale 000, basically an OM, a Martin designation from 1929, when they first started to convert most of their models from 12 fret (Standard) to 14. They called it "Orchestra Model" because the longer neck was designed for the burgeoning swing bands of the era. |
