From the late Steve Helgeson of Eureka, CA, fully hand-made by a reknowned builder at the top of his craft, comes this 12-fret 0000 with tasteful high-end appointments such as a thin abalone purfling inside koa binding, burled walnut or elm rosette, fingerboard, bridge and heel cap. Back & sides are what appears to be perfect straight grained Madagascar rosewood, a quartersawn Adirondack spruce top and a beautiful original pearl torch inlay on its slotted head. This is an extremely rich and lively sounding instrument that takes the smallest touch to create a full clear tonal response. The twelve-fret 16" box is marvelous joining of characteristics, only done in a couple instances lately: Schoenberg Guitars model "Quartet" has been entirely successful, and the Martin Custom Shop has done a few lately for very intelligent people lately.
Addendum: We realized that the strings on it were terrible, put new light gauge 80/20s on it, and the difference in sound was incredible! Come try it out.
