Product Description
From John DeLapp, of Davis CA, out of fancy flamed walnut back & sides, finished natural, and a Carpathian spruce top, finished with a great Gibson style burst. As our model name implies, the body shape is taken from the esteemed vintage Gibson L-00, with a 24 ⅝" scale and a 1 ⅞" nut width. John is a thoughtful builder who will build guitars to test out ideas, and this is an example made to experiment with a thinner knife-edged shape Gibson style bracing. The neck is wider because his main tester is Bob Armstrong (Cheap Suit Serenaders) and Bob likes these wide necks. My response to the test says something is working amazingly well! There were four or five test guitars and that is a minimum sample, and this is the only one I've played, but one thing you can say is, with John's building combined with the skinny braces, the results are astounding: you need to come in and experience this guitar.
