Product Description
A very rare original five-string, this is a first year Mastertone, ball-bearing staggered hole ring and tube and plate flange. The sound of the original ball-bearing rim is the tone that the legendary Ralph Stanley was famous for in his early years. With a pleasant sounding top end and more transparent mid-range than the late ?20s arch tops, known as the most versatile tone of all the mastertone configurations. It's been played a whole lot - all the finish has been worn off the back of the neck and some of the resonator, with an overspray on the resonator. The only non-original part as far as I can tess is the geared 5th string peg. The neck is straight and the action is super low.
