Product Description
Fabulous recent 12-fret D-18 from the brilliant team of Willi Henkes and Rudi Blazer of Tubingen, Germany. These two men are the premier European experts in American vintage guitars, in making, repairing and studying the field. This guitar is very strongly based on Martin's iconic early dreadnaught model, from the time when all guitars were 12 frets to the body. On the D body, the longer body gives an intensely resonant, deep bass like no other guitar, literally. The mahogany ones have a potential edge tonewise in the sense that it adds a touch of clarity and brightness to the humongous bass. Many players have been beguiled into this garden of aural pleasure upon experiencing the sound for the first time. Beware all ye who give this guitar a strum! The 1932 sunburst is a tricky one to replicate, and this one succeeds with flying colors (yuk yuk).
