Product Description
One of eight guitars produced through John Lundberg's Berkeley shop, German spruce tops, bodies were made by Frank Ford of Gryphon Instruments while neck and finish was by Mario Martello. It is designed as an accurate copy of Leadbelly's famous Stella, with the Jumbo body, 26 ½" scale, accurate purflings and rosettes, even accurate brace shapes. The result is a pretty darn great sounding 12. Four of the eight had the tailpiece like Leadbelly's and four had a pin bridge, six pin holes, 2 strings per. The only way that this copy is inaccurate is that its quality of construction is higher than the original. Action is low as well.
