Product Description
Much played but ultimately playable, in fine condition and playability. The FON number, if we're reading it correctly - it's very faint - appears in Spahn's book as an L00, a nice validation of the date, as does the color and size of the burst. The bracing is perfect; untouched and firmly glued, the action is great, though the saddle, which has been nicely intonated, is low. There is a hairline in the back that may be a crack. No air gets through so it's probably a finish craze. The one visible repair is a small area below the bridge where a piece of wood pulled up, probably during a bridge reglue, and was glued back down properly. The neck is nicely V shaped of medium depth and the tone of the instrument is chimey and sweet, with a dry quality that we often find in some of the better quality vintage instruments.
