Product Description
Model "Special" with "Big Tex" inlaid on the ebony truss rod cover and engraved into the custom cast bronze tailpiece with adjustable break angle, in the D'Aquisto style. It's a full 19" wide, out of Eastern hard maple and Adirondack spruce, commissioned by Tom Van Hoose as an homage to the Stromberg Master 400. The fretboard, bridge, finger rest and headstock veneer front and rear are Macassar ebony, tuners are Grover Imperials. It is parallel braced, the binding is curly maple with ebony purfling. The workmanship, materials, playability, tone and volume are exceptional. It's one of only three 19" archtops that Roger has built.
